Barings Real Estate was founded in 2010 and is one of the world’s 10 largest real estate managers. It is the German platform of the US-based wealth manager Barings with some US$ 325 billion worth of assets under management (of which US$ 15.7 billion is invested in real estate assets) and employs a staff of over 2,000 in 16 countries. Barings is the end investor of the LEO Business Campus Stuttgart and has a decentralised and local capability operating out of offices in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Munich.
Barings applies the „Boots on the ground“ principle and ist very close to the properties through its network of five offices. Tenants and other market participants such as brokers can rely on the company’s close presence and quick reaction times.
The overall principle of sustainability is the driving force for the company’s senior management. This influences not only the investment processes but is also clear from the way staff and the environment are treated. One of many examples of this is the proposed DGNB Gold certification for the LEO Business Campus Stuttgart.
